About Us

Visitors and Guests are Welcome!

A local chapter of the American Association of Woodturners (AAW).

We serve the city of Mobile, surrounding areas, and the eastern shore area in Baldwin County, Alabama.

We meet monthly at 9:00 am on the 4th Saturday of the month, January through October and on the 2nd Saturday of November and December. Our regular meeting place is located at:

Driven Engineering, Inc.
8005 Morris Hill Road
Semmes, AL 36575

Note: Driven Engineering is our regular meeting place but this can change if more space is needed usually for outside demonstrators. So please see our Calendar of Events for the current location. Also, please bring your own chair.

Our mission mirrors that of the AAW (while throwing in some camaraderie, fun, and laughs):

The Association’s purpose is to foster a wider understanding and appreciation of lathe-turning as a traditional and contemporary craft and a form of art among the general public, amateur turners, part-time turners, and professional turners. This will be accomplished by providing education, information, organization, technical assistance, and publications relating to woodturning.

Every month we try to offer member or guest demonstrations (come and learn), show and tell (bring your work), auctions or drawings (mostly wood), extensive library (see our library listing), information on local (Pensacola to New Orleans) events, and club activities.

Thinking about becoming a member then fill out the application and bring to your next meeting.

As Always Visitors and Guests are Welcome!
